Technical consultancy for Major League Cricket

Antares Media joined with the other partners who were involved with the repurposing of the AirHogs Stadium in Dallas from a Minor League Baseball stadium to a purpose built cricket stadium, to provide the technical specification for the television fit out to future proof the stadium for years to come.

The consultancy was over the Covid Lockdown periods and as such it was all conducted over internet conferencing software. Antares Media was in there up to our elbows in how the stadium was to come to life as the planning took shape.

Every part of the design for the television fit out was checked against current best practices and checked with engineering professionals that will be working in the stadium for years to come. Antares Media have made provision in the design for all sizes of outside broadcasts from a standard coverage to the behemoths like the Major League Cricket that will open the stadium in July 2023, and beyond.

Premium coverage Partners US Minor League Cricket

Toyota Minor League Cricket second season

Antares Media are proud to have been selected as the production partners for season two of the Toyota Minor League Cricket  Championship in the US.

Binging our decades of production knowledge to a new season of cricket is always an exciting prospect and this year we have an added bonus. The complexities of covering a competition that spans the continental United States is a daunting prospect and a test of logistics and ambition.

Antares Media have met the challenge set by Minor League Cricket with cutting edge answers to the call. Staging 19 multi camera outside broadcasts encompassing 34 matches in eight states over eight weeks is a tall order, with some of the turn arounds seeing over 2000 miles between locations.Through our partnerships with Tyrell Productions and TV Syndicate we have grasped the nettle and moved the coverage into new areas with the decision to provide the coverage using remote production techniques.

Eight cameras, commentary and audio effects will be brought back to our remote studio at TV Syndicate's Salt Lake City headquarters. All of the feeds will be cut, graphics added, replays inserted and commentary and effects mixed into the final program. This complete signal is then fed to our distribution partners including Willow TV in the US, and other carriers around the world. In territories where there is no formal distribution agreement the feed will be made available on Minor League Cricket's  YouTube channel and Facebook platform.

Working with Justin Geale and Josh Dascombe from Minor League Cricket to develop a schedule and wish list for the premium coverage has been a challenge that we have all relished. At every step there has been reasons for moving to the remote production method, a huge leap of faith for MLC, embracing this emerging technology, with Antares Media having had some experience in the field through golf projects that use the same type of production.

The technique allows us to cut down on the amount of equipment and personnel we have to move between locations without sacrificing any quality or enhancements.

“We’re delighted to offer enhanced coverage of the Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship presented by Sunoco this summer, with every match available for fans to watch live. We’re making a significant investment to provide premium broadcasts and showcase the best domestic cricket championship in the country,” said Justin Geale, Tournament Director, MiLC. “We’re excited to see our 26 teams begin play this weekend and compete for the largest prize in American cricket over 10 weeks of exciting T20 action nationwide.”

Minor League Finals
USA Cricket

First season of MiLC Finals covered by Antares Media

Antares Media produced the first finals series for Minor League Cricket in the USA.

It was also the first time that Willow TV had a  live programme produced with them as the host broadcaster.

With 12 cameras and multi angle replays it was a great step ahead for locally produced cricket in the USA.

Antares Media are proud to have broken this new ground with USA Cricket.

Cricket West Indies
Streaming Services

Antares Media were contracted by Cricket West Indies to provide production and streaming distribution services for three series:

West Indies A v India A

West Indies Women v India Women

All three series were streamed to multiple partners and to YouTube in territories that there was no distribution arrangement. The YouTube channel garnered over 54 million hits over the period and millions more on the official carriers.

At the conclusion of the series we were further commissioned to cover the West Indies Players Association Awards from Sandals in Antigua and the Legends Match the night after at College Cricket Ground.
